Wine Skin WBN6250 Review by Courtney Birst "I read. I write. I run." (East Coast, United States)

I used Wine Skins twice now - the first time I brought back 4 bottles of wine from Italy, the second time I brought back 2 bottles of wine from Spain. Each time the wine arrived safe and sound, secure in the double sealed bubble wrap bag. They're one-time use (cannot open it once you've sealed it, you have to cut it open), but they're an inexpensive investment that ensure your clothing isn't ruined by the wine should it break, and provides extra padding around the bottle to reduce/prevent breaks. Like I said - I've used this on 6 bottles with no problems! Highly recommended!

Wine Skin WBN6250 Review by Chicago Book Addict (Chicago, IL)

I bought one of these while on a trip to California. I found a great bottle of ice cider and needed to be able to take it back in my suitcase without it breaking (obviously). Even though the bottle was abnormally sized (more long and skinny than normal, it fit it in the bag when angled diagonally. However, this skin is meant to fit a standard-sized bottle of wine so as others have mentioned, I don't see a champagne bottle fitting. This product gets an A+ because my bottle arrived perfectly without so much as a crack or scratch. Even better, none of the bubbles popped and by acting very, very carefully I was able to remove the tape and think that by using my own reusable tape I'll be able to get at least one more use out of this. The key to doing so is opening it carefully with your hands rather than using a knife or scissors. Overall, this is a great product. Just getting one use out of it was fantastic as it allowed my bottle to arrive safely, but if I can get another use (which looks likely) or even two or three out of it, all the better.

Wine Skin WBN6250 Review by T. M. Weisenberger

I have used these products several times now to bring back single malt scotch that was not distributed in the USA. It is a shame that they are single use, but those two tacky strips are what give you a leakproof seal. Three dollars or so is cheap insurance for a hundred dollar bottle of whisky. If you will be negating your cost saving from buying abroad by using one of these, you should rethink your purchase. You should seldom buy away what you can buy at home. As an example, I bought a couple of bottles of wine in California and muled them back to Virginia only to find them (much) cheaper in World Market five miles from home. Never again.

Rules to travel by: Don't buy it unless it is significantly cheaper than home; even then do so seldom; buy something truly worth carrying in your luggage or drink it there; worth carrying means unavailable at home or has great sentimental value (honeymoon wine?). If you make it worth the trouble of packing, you don't mind the cost of one of these really convenient, albeit single-use, products.

Wine Skin WBN6250::Description

Just because you can no longer protect a bottle of wine by carrying it onboard, it doesn't mean you can't take one along to share with the hostess. Just slip it inside this tough, bubble wrap lined bag. Double peel-and-stick seals and a durable, puncture-resistant shell protect in the unlikely event your bottle is broken. Holds a 750 ml bottle of wine or spirits (Includes Bordeaux & Burgundy Bottles).
