I purchased one of these for my elderly parents that live in the wintery climate of northern VT. They experiance a lot of dry below zero weather and the Honewell humidifier has made a big differance in making them comfortable through out the winter months. It's reasonably quiet and easy for them to use,fill with water etc.

If you like buying a $12 dollar filter every month go for it.. But the wicking action slowly deteriorates over about 3 weeks... Your first week is great and by the time you get to the 3rd week, it can barely keep any moisure in the home as the wicking action is non existant. And no its not a single bad filter.. all 3 I have purchased did the same thing... Find one that has a positive wetting from dripping down rather than wickinig up... That was a waste of over $100

I bought this humidifier in 2008 so I've used it for 2 seasons now. It puts a lot of water in the air! We have a 2200 sq. ft home and when it gets cold here in Ohio, I am refilling it about once a day to keep the humidity around 33%. I don't understand the filter problems that some others have had. Maybe it's the water source? We have city water and I am still using the orignal filter. I would reccomend this unit.
