I am a female college student who lives in the dorm rooms. I have shared a personal bathroom with 2 or 3 other girls and it was very hard to get dressed in the morning since we all wanted the lighting and mirror. I ended up wanting a vanity but didn't have enough money or space for one. I ended up getting a full length mirror and it worked okay. I have finally saved up money and I did tons of research to make sure that I would get one that would fit and one that was a nice quality. I didn't want one that looked cheat and would fall apart. It took me some time but I finally decided that this was the vanity for me. I was extremely happy when I put the vanity together. It is bigger than the standard one drawer vanity but not too big and bulky. I didn't look at height, but it is tall. I have plenty of space between me and the vanity and can get as close as I need to. It is very sturdy and mostly made up of real wood, so it is very solid. I bought from Amazon and I was glad that I did. The packaging wasn't the best for the vanity part. Everything else had its own box and great packaging. But the vanity itself didn't. The first one I got was dented in on the front and I was not happy. I called Amazon and a new one was sent out right away. I got it two days later. :) It was perfect and I love my vanity. I cant wait to get to college to set up my vanity and not have to fight for the mirror. Also the bottom side drawers had the front part fall off. But that was easy to fix with a little glue. It looks like the glue had dried out and with not so careful shipping it came loose. Not something I cared about as it was an easy fix and would have happened with time. Hope this helps to everyone who is looking at this vanity.

I had wanted to get myself something like this for a long time. I loved the idea of having a nice place to sit and apply my makeup in the morning, and wanted something classic, a little girly, and something that would last. This is the first piece of "real" furniture that I've ever bought for myself, and I am thrilled.

As other reviews on this item have said, it's all real wood with the exception of some of the drawer bottoms. I'm not an expert on these things, but I believe the drawer bottoms are some very hard-pressed particle board. I had to really examine them to see, though, and they aren't a part of the piece that one will be looking at.

It was well-packaged, though there were some slight dings out of the box. The front of the main desk top had some scratches on it, and so the protective plastic wrapping stuck to it a little bit. I was able to get it out with a sponge, and I think a bit of wood polish will almost completely conceal the scratches. In addition, the mirror had a tiny chip in the bottom - about half the size of a dime and right along the edge. I'm too thrilled with the piece, though, to consider returning it.

Putting it together was a breeze. All hardware is included, and the instructions are pictures-only and clear enough. I could have put it together even without the instructions, frankly, since it's so straight-forward. Whatever finish was put on the legs at some points overflowed and partially obstructed the screw holes. I used a flat-head screwdriver to simply scrape it away, and had no issues. I also needed to use a screwdriver just to poke through some of the drilled holes, since some debris was left behind from the drilling. Neither of these things were big hassles - in fact, they reminded me that I was dealing with real wood and not something that a machine pressed together. Once put together, the piece is incredibly sturdy.

The drawers are small. None of them will be big enough to hold my hair brushes, but they are good for things like jewelry, makeup, keys etc. I like that the mirror moves freely once it's put together, so I can tilt it forward or back.

I'm also very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the stool. It is heavy and plush. The fabric has a subtle pattern on it. I will probably re-cover the stool at some point, since I am clumsy and will surely stain the white fabric, but all the same it is very nice-looking.

I can tell that this is a piece that will last a long time, and I really look forward to taking care of it. Since it is real wood, I know that I could even refinish it at some point if I wanted to. I am in my mid twenties and I can imagine giving this to a daughter or grand-daughter down the line. I love seeing it every day, and am so glad that I went with this piece out of all the ones I looked at.
