This is one well manufactured product. The fit and finish of the parts were amazing. The assembly was straight forward and I like the fact that I could change the lift assist by adjusting the spring. I installed into a cabinet for my mothers very large Kitchen Aid mixer and it works excellent. It can be a little unbalanced feeling when raising, but I didn't see a way to design around this.

Received this as a birthday gift. My husband installed it in our new baking center and at Christmas time it was "there" when I needed to use it and easily "not there" in the way when I didn't want it sitting around taking up space. I would recommend this to ANYONE who has a heavy mixer AND has arthritis or uses a walker or wheelchair, as it can be installed to lift to a height usable by anyone! Thank YOU!

The unit arrived quickly, and was complete with all hardware and instructions. I don't recommend the enclosed screws; they're not beefy enough. I opted to install the lifter in our 30" sink base unit, with the garbage disposal in the way (of course!) Our base cabinets have plywood sides, 3/4", with Melamine finish, and have maple hardwood facing. The lifter's sides didn't clear the offset of the facing, so I had to add spacer blocks. As stated in the ad, the unit doesn't come with a shelf. I easily fabbed one from matching Melamine plywood, and it looks good. Per the instructions, I adjusted the lifter to its heaviest setting. Its springs 'boost' better at this setting, even though we've only a typical Kitchen Aid mixer. Do NOT cycle the hinges or try the adjustment on them until you've got the hinges solidly mounted, even without the shelf. These are serious springs here, and they'll mangle if you're not careful. Final opinion: worth the money. We've saved counter space, and use the mixer more 'cause we don't have to dig it out. Installation time for me, a klutz + perfectionist, >> 6 hrs. Good luck!
