KitchenAid KP26M1XDP Review by C. Harmon (Houston,TX)

This machine is amazing. It makes baking, etc... a breeze. No more hand mixing. It's a bit loud, but otherwise a good buy.

KitchenAid KP26M1XDP Review by Stuart M. Katz

My mother and my mother in law had kitchen aid stand mixers that lasted over 20 years. My pro-600 575 watt $379.00 mixer which I bought for myself and my two daughter in laws lasted exactly 14 uses. Oh yes it took two years and 9 months for it to shoot craps, but it sat in the closet for all except about 1 1/2 hours of use.

The transmission is a piece of junk, any stress and the bushing snaps and you now have a $120.00 replacement/repair bill. DON'T BUY THIS MIXER IT IS JUNK, PLAIN AND SIMPLE JUNK.

What used to be a fine product is another example of the lousy standards American manufacturing companies have. The unit was "assembled" in the USA, but where were the critical parts made? Good question, but Kitchen Aid won't tell you.

Want a price to fix it, either mail he unit in,(think of the price of that friends) or take it to your local repair shop which if you are as lucky as I am, is a 130 mile round trip.

Service, quality? They don't know the word.

Amazon is a great service, I love buying from them. I wish they carried reliable products, but they, like I thought it was a superior brand. What a mistake I made. Do not make the same mistake that I did.

KitchenAid KP26M1XDP Review by Jennifer M. Garber "JMG" (Altoona Pennsylvania)

I've made plenty of whole whet bread--even four loaves at a time--and I can tell my mixer is working hard but it never ever gave me any trouble or stopped working. This mixer is fantastic. I can triple the nestle chocolate chip cookie recipe and it mixes it up just fine. It is very powerful and whips up whipped cream or egg whites in no time! I've over whipped them because I've turned my back for a second. This mixer is wonderful. I can't think of one bad issue I've had with it.

Feedback

George Foreman GRP4EMB Review by Nancy in Florida

This is my third or fourth George Foreman grill. I absolutely love them and can't imagine life without it. I have used each one until it died. This is my first of the grills with removable grill plates. I didn't think I would like this style of grill because I thought they would be too small, but my husband wanted the removable plates because he didn't like cleaning the original. I'm happy to say that I love the removable grill plates. It's not too small and the plates are incredibly easy to clean. I love the deep-dish bake pan...it's so versatile. I have baked chicken and crab cakes, but what I really like to use it for is re-heating food. I don't like the taste of foods that are re-heated in the microwave so I've been using the George Foreman and it's great. I roasted vegetables in the deep dish pan and forgot to unplug it after I removed the vegetables. The remains were all burnt and baked on. I thought it would be really tough to clean. I soaked it for a couple of hours and all I had to do was rinse it with water and it was clean as a whistle. You really can't beat George Foreman grills!!

George Foreman GRP4EMB Review by k.knee "rotiserie lover" (CA)

Foreman grill evolve, i use it in almost everything stir fry vegetables, grill meat, fish and everything comes out great. Its ike my mini stove.Cleaning is easy, food don't stick on the pan. Before pre heating i would wipe oil and pre heat them on 5 for 400, i notice that food is easy to cook i love it. only thing i don't like is the cross hatch grill,i call up foremans site and they told me that they discountinue the regular grill for the upper part. but i love it and would recommend this you would not be sorry buying this if it gets malfuntion i would still get the same brand and model. i am a picky person always trying to make m,y cooking easy and foreman grill helpme a lot

George Foreman GRP4EMB Review by zanadu

Fiesta 855-326P Review by pmoser

So I purchased the Sunflower Fiestaware flatware and they are very cute. My problem was the run around I went through to get them.

Fiesta 855-326P Review by Rusty

Very happy with product! Took me ten years to compete my wife's collection and at such a good price. Very happy husband!

Fiesta 855-326P Review by Grejam (US)

Good durable dishes.

One nit; I suggest you buy all one color, or only mix compatible colors. My mother-in-law thought we should mix, and the effect is somewhat hodge podge. Find us getting together the one color we have most of to use...

Also note there is a larger lunch plate (between dinner and the small saucer size) available that's useful, but doesn't seem to be in the packages.

KitchenAid KGM Review by Art

This is the perfect attachment for those home bakers that don't have a large volume of grain to grind.
Makes wonderful bread flour for me.

KitchenAid KGM Review by Davide Bianchini "Rising Suns" (Connecticut, USA)

Just a quick note; I am wondering if some of the negative reviews have been addressed by Kitchen Aid. The unit I bought (as of 8/2011) does not appear to have these problems anymore. Perhaps it is an updated unit?

GRAIN SIZE: On the finest setting, it mills to a powder--not a "coarse sand" like another reviewer said--which should be sufficient for bread making (If you are having problems with it rising, you can always just add a finer powder to it to help it rise, such as Vital Wheat Gluten, or even just plain store flour. Just notice how it behaves when you're kneading. If it's gummy and together, then it's fine. If it is chunky and breaks up, then you need to add something. Eggs help bind it together as well. It bakes. That's what is important.)

MINIMUM WATTAGE REQUIRED: I own the 250 Watt Kitchen Aid (the cheapest model), and have used this mill with no problems so far. While it does heat up after a while, evidently they all do. You just need to let it cool before filling up the hopper again. To me, this is not such a big deal.

Just wanted to relay these few thoughts. (by the way, I am using Whole Wheat Berries).

I've only had it for a few days ,but I will give an update once I have had it for longer.

KitchenAid KGM Review by mother of 3

I wish it would grain fine-er, the finest option is pretty chunky. Perfect for the price. The Real grain mill cost much-much more.

Peugeot PM20613 Reviews

Peugeot PM20613 Review by John C. Beckham "Pantanoso" (Panama City FL)

Instructions in French and German (NOT in English). I struggled to get it apart for battery installation. When I put it back together, I couldn't get the pins to catch. Turns out that if you don't line up the arrows just right the push button gets bent up inside the grinder. I struggled with it for a half hour. unscrewed the push button, pulled it out, straightened it, it's plastic. It was weakened from being bent IT'S PLASTIC. Fortunately I managed to reassemble it. I imagined what would happen if anyone else in the family should try to replace the batteries. I repackaged it and sent it back. Sooooo, my wife didn't get a present on Valentine's day. It would have been so easy to put a groove in it so that it could only be put together in the right position. Instead you can reassemble it any of 360 degrees but you tear it up if it's not exactly right.

I never actually used it but I did think the capacity was too small and would require frequent refill. Only the clear part is reservoir.

Peugeot PM20613 Review by nancyfsu

This product is fantastic!!! It is worth every penny. I've thrown out/given away all of my other pepper mills. I originally received the Peugeot pepper mill as a gift, and liked it so much that I have given it as a gift several times. This is without a doubt the best pepper mill that I have ever used. It has a light and the you are able to adjust the courseness of the pepper that is being ground. Everyone that uses it always has a positive comment.

Peugeot PM20613 Review by Frequent Online Shopper "Home Alot" (USA)

After trying several different less expensive electric pepper mills I finally ordered this one. Unlike the cheaper ones it works well and the grind adjustment actually changes the grind. One big problem with the
less expensive mills was that their grind adjustment really didn't change anything. I liked this mill so much that I bought a second one (I use both black and white pepper). If you can afford it this one is a winner.

Margaritaville DM1000 Review by M. Sandoz

My bf and I bought this as a present to his friend congratulating him on a new house purchase. We used it yesterday ALL day! It's awesome. Well worth the money. I'm getting one for myself now! You can make all kinds of drinks w/it... not just margaritas. Any time you want a frozen anything, you can do it w/this machine.
Thank you to Amazon for the speedy shipping also.

Margaritaville DM1000 Review by D. Egbert "Spikemarley" (Jersey)

Bought this for wife for Mother's Day from that auction site, $199. This machine has been a hit!

Any party we go to, this goes too. It makes the perfect margarita. I've used it to make mudslides and pina colada's as well, which comes out okay.

The ice shaver is a little on the loud side if used indoors. Other than that, no real complaints.

Margaritaville DM1000 Review by Abbotsford Flyers (Abbotsford, BC. Canada)

I have used this Margaritaville machine for over a year and am very pleased with this unit. I had previously purchased two less expensive Margarita makers in the $70.00 range and found they made margaritas fine.

My wife came home from Costco and mentioned the Margaritaville machine was on sale for $199.00. I purchased one have have not used the other units since.

Some features to note:

1. This machine is large; it does not fit under the cupboards in our kitchen, nor did my wife want this unit in the kitchen on display all the time. I have it set up in our enclosed carport, right next to a portable ice making machine. (Very handy indeed).

2. The Margaritaaville shaving blade does a far superior job than the other units I have. No lumps and a very smooth blend of ice in your drink.

3. It is better to load more ice than you think you need; better to have extra ice when it is in the automatic shave and blend mode.

4. When selecting one, two, or three drinks the unit takes all the guess work out of the equation. This is one of the features I appreciate the most.

5. There is a small hole and holding container in the ice basket that allows the water to store in a plastic unit at the back. This works great and keeps the ice dry. I have never needed to empty the water holder when hosting a get together with a lot of people over.

6. After each use, I simply wash it out in soapy water and am careful to reassemble the washer and blade to the bottom of the glass holder. The first two or three times I was not as careful as I should have been, and found the margarita mix leaked out of the bottom. Would suggest you are very careful to make sure the bottom plastic ring is placed even and you have to remember to tighten it opposite to the way you would normally want to screw it on.

7. When making say two drinks for yourself, after the ice and mix is all blended up, I would suggest placing an empty margarita glass under the ice drop. Sometimes ice will drop down to the bottom of the unit. When it is time for your second drink you can manual shave a bit more ice then mix it up. If you shave too much ice your drink will be somewhat weaker.

8. I purchased the carrying case separately to transport this unit, but have only used it a few times. It works great but I personally found it a bit too much bother to take else where.

9. We entertain outside and have a lot of cement in our back yard. Suggest you get a good supply of plastic margarita glasses. This makes everyone relax as on occasion accidents happen.

10. Clean up is a breeze. Our unit looks as new as the day we brought it home. It has had a lot of use. We cover the unit with the plastic bag it came in.

11. As mentioned we placed the Margarita unit next to our ice making machine. [...]

12. Bar mix works great. Here is the type we use, both lemon and lime. Suggest you weigh out 1/2 or 1/4 the mix into a plastic mixing contain. I use a portable drill and small paint mixer to mix up the bar mix. It works great and much better than a wooden spoon I first tried. You want all the mix incorporated in the water. [...]

13. As I am writing this review, the sun is shining, and I am getting thirsty, it is time I mix up a refreshing margarita.

The Margarita machine works great and I cannot think of any negative features. I set the ice making machine to the smallest ice cubes, as i heard this is easier for the blades to shave the ice. The blades are made of stainless steel and the rubber casket is soft rubber.

The recipe I normally make for two drinks is 3 ounces of Tequila, 1 ounce of Triple sec, 8 ounces of lime bar mix. Set the unit to two drinks and it is automatic.

My daughter has made smoothies with this unit and manually shaves the ice and mixes the drink mixture until the desired thickness he enjoys.

This is a rather long review, but hopefully you will find some of the features mentioned helpful.

Anolon 50366 Product Reviews

Anolon 50366 Review by Susan "picky shopper" (Franklin, TN United States)

I couldn't wait to receive this new pot so I could make sauce with meatballs and sausage!! My other sauce pots were just not big enough to make servings that I could then freeze...and everyone knows that sauce is better left over. So...1st day out of the box I made enough sauce to feed an army. No spilling...but more important, no burning. That much sauce in another pot might burn as it sits on the burner for up to 4 hours. This pot was great!!! It is strong, sturdy, just heavy enough to feel good about, but light enough to handle. I am estatic!!! I shopped around and I am so glad I bought this one. Price was great, too!!!

Anolon 50366 Review by Jack (NMI) Stecker

If like me you can't justify the expense of an All-Clad product this it a great deal. I quit using aluminum pots years ago when I saw how they reacted to high acid things. I've also heard that aluminum may be linked to alzhimers. Except for All-Clad this is the best stock pot I've ever used.

Anolon 50366 Review by Chief cook, baker, reader and gardener (Philadelphia, PA)

I ordered this pot primarily for making soup, stocks and broths. It does the job beautifully and is studily made with well shaped handles and a heavy bottom. The weight feels just right, not flimsy and light like some others and yet not too heavy to use.

Every cook has a day when they need an oversized pot. Though you may not use it everyday, you'll be surprised how often you do use it. Whether you're celebrating crab season, cooking pasta for a crowd or making homemade stock from your Thanksgiving turkey, you'll appreciate the large capacity of this stockpot. The pot is made of stainless steel, a metal that will not react with food, and features a bottom layer of aluminum for even heating plus a stainless steel protector so that the base won't leave marks on your ceramic sink or countertop.
